Hasbro V Wing Fighter

Here is another of my latest and favorite collection.  The Star Wars V-Wing Fighter from Hasbro.  I love Star Wars since I was a kid, especially on the ship design.  But I started to collect the ship only just recently.  Since there are too many type of the vehicle with various prices, then I will have to limit them, so I only have several of this ship in my wish list.

The V-Wing Fighter appear only briefly in the Star Wars Episode 3 as an escort for Palpatine’s Shuttle from Mustafar to Alderan.  Interestingly, the V Wing has the same sound as the Tie Fighter.  Perhaps to show the connection between the V Wing as the closing fighter in the Episode 3 to the Tie Fighter in the Episode 4.

At first since the ship only appear briefly, the silhouette and clear form of the ship itself is hard to recognized, only the twin Vertical wing that resemble the Tie Fighter that becomes it unique feature.  So after I get the vehicle from Hasbro then we can analyze the full form of the ship.

there should be 2 cannons on each wing struts, bu i forget to attached them

So back to the toy, the ship comes in a sturdy box (I forgot to take the picture), and needs some assembly.  The assembly itself is very simple, and in a few minute than the V Wing is ready for display.

the inner surface of the wings has nice detail

It comes with a separate pilot figure, a standard Republic Clone Pilot from Episode 3.  This is actually not included in the original toy, but as a bonus from my friend who kindly provide this toy for me.  The pilot has good amount of articulation and comes with a blaster.  But since I plan on placing him in the cockpit then there is not much that he will do.

The V Wing comes in a hard plastic and some hard rubber part.  The paint job in this ship is very nice.  It comes in a clean color, no battle damage, as if it has just been sent from the factory.  It also has several Tampo Printing to display the symbols on the ships and several marking on it.

The cockpit glass is clear and the cockpit details are good.  With several touch up, we can bring the detail of the cockpit to live.  The canopy also can open and close easily.

The wings are folded towards the front of the ship and interestingly become the side landing gear.  With the forward landing gear down and the side wing folded, the ship stand sturdy on the hangar base.

The ship has at least 8 moveable parts that is 2 on each side wing, 2 on top of the ship, and 2 on the rear thrusters.  The 2 on the top is said to reduce the heat and can be move between close covering the Astromech droid and open to reveal the rear top fuselage.  The 2 smaller wings near the Afterburner also has slight movement.  All this wings has great detail and paint job.

The main feature of the ship is the spring open wing, activated by pressing the top rear after burner and the side wing will deploy to position.  With the wings deployed, you cannot put the Ship in standard sitting position.
