Front Mission : Grilezex

For this review, we will take a break from the Yamato and military and get more into my other collection.  Though not entirely off from the military theme, since in the game this figure is heavily used by military.  The figure in general is called Wanzer.  Wanzer means Walking Panzers and made famous from the game Front Mission.  The figures from Front Mission are not much but since it was released a long time ago, it was quite difficult to find, at least here in Indonesia.

Now this figure is from the game Front Mission 3 made by Square Enix, a wanzer named Grilezex.  This figure itself has been in my wish list for at least 10 years. And this is one of my latest acquisitions; a friend of mine bought this for me in his visit to Singapore and in a quite reasonable price.

Now, get on with the review, this thing comes in a plastic card with hard carton background.  It has several images of the figures with the other figures in the line.  To open it, you just have to slip the carton all the way down from the plastic cover.

On the plastic tray, all the equipment and parts is laid neatly on the plastic tray.  The equipment includes 1 knuckle, 1 army knife, a shotgun look alike gun, a backpack and 2 alternative hands.  All of them were held firmly in the plastic tray. Removing them require much force that I was afraid of breaking them.

The Grilezex was made of hard ABS and plastic.  The joints are tight.  All the articulation work really well and the posing of this figure is wonderful.  The figure has a very boxy look, really supporting as the military use of this wanzer.  The paint is very good, with detailing and weathering to make it look as a battle worn robot and exposed to the elements.

The hand in which to hold the gun has the small peg located on the palm.  The gun or weapon was literally plugged to the peg making a weird look since the hand does not really hold the gun.  But the stability caused by the peg is a good point.

The shoulder armor has the portholes to insert shoulder mounted weapon, too bad they do not include one in this Grilezex.  In the arms also has portholes to connect arm mounted weapon or shield also non include.  All front mission figures gun, shield, weapon and backpack are all interchangeable.  While for the limb such as arm, body and leg is not (unlike in the game).  Though I actually cannot be sure since I do not dare to try removing the figure’s limb and exchanging them.

So here are more shots on the figures in his fully armed mode.  Enjoy the show.
