LOTR : Legolas Twin Elven Dagger Review

The Hobbit movies hype is now striking me.  Even when I haven’t seen the movie, it has already awakened my interest in the Middle Earth Saga, or as most people know as Lord Of the Rings.  Actually, Lord Of The Ring is only a 3 book part from more than 15 books series I the Middle Earth history, and it is located at the very last of the history, or as the last books.  The Hobbit itself is located as the prequel for the Lord of the Ring.  So the story developed on how Bilbo Baggin managed to get the ring and why Dwarf and Elf has their grudges against each other.

Okay, back to collections, actually I do not have much of Middle Earth stuff collections.  I have only the DVD of the LOTR Trilogy Extended Edition and the 1/1 scale replica of Legolas’ Twin Elven Daggers.

Let’s start with the Daggers.  The set comes with 2 daggers, and a wooden plaque to hang them on the wall.  The Daggers is around 50 centimeters in length.  They were made from hard steel, so no rust is found on them even after I put them on display after more than 5 years.  It is also made in a full tang, means the metal blade was forged deep into the end of the handle.  So it definitely is battle ready.  A very rugged blade they are.  Luckily they are not sharp.  But with little effort, you can sharpen them with ease.

The Blades itself was adorned with Elven scripture and gold trim.  The handle part also has this treatment.  If you look carefully, the blades themselves was not the same, they are two different blade altogether since both has different scripture.  So it was not just a blade copy in two but blades that mirror each others.  Definitely a very nice items.  The handle also can be gripped very firmly to our hand.

The Twin Daggers was kept on the wooden plaque in crossing each other creating a nice X alphabet.  Hang it on the wall and adorned it.

Okay for the next part of the review, we’ll get to the DVD set which are a work of art themselves.
