Bandai Ultraman Max Dash Machine 1

My other collectibles in the review is the Ultraman Max, Dash Machine no 1.  I haven’t watched the show yet, so I do not know the nick name of the jet.  I got this jet online from a seller.  The item itself is still in good condition, but the outer box is damaged.  Anyway, I do not really care for the box so I get it anyway.

This series of vehicle has new design, the jet was made sleeker and I think more fly-able then the previously futuristic jet.  The color was very bright and has a lot of color combination.  Anyway, let’s start it with the review.

The box has the picture of the jet flying and transforming between the modes available.  It also has the picture of Ultraman Max which appears very much like Ultra Seven.  The inner box is plastic tray, no longer use Styrofoam.  The jets wings also have additional plastic cover to protect the chrome parts on the wing.  Also included is the manual.  I do not know whether there is a sticker or not, since I bought this on secondary market, but I guess Bandai has made all of the necessary things printed on the jet directly, a great improvement.

So coming out of the box, the jet is in its Attack Mode.  To complete it you just have to switch the vertical stabilizers up.  The Attack mode has all the wings spread wide to both side.  I think this large wing section will increase maneuverability of the jet.  Both wing tips has the chrome section.  In the underside, you can see the permanently molded Landing Gears,… In RED…..

From the Attack Mode, we have the Normal Mode.  All you have to do is to move the Side wings to the front of the jet, making the wings to form additional Forward fuselage of the jet.  The wings move in unison, so, if you move one wing, the other will follow.  Once in place, there is a locking mechanism to lock the wing and stabilize it. Very nice.  In this mode I thing it focus in speed, as we can see the design by reducing the wing drag and make the fuselage more aerodynamic.

Finally the Standby Mode, what you need to do is press back the vertical stabilizers inside, and flips the side wing tips into the body.  You have the Stand By mode with reduce foot print to increase storage capacity in the base.  Another neat feature is from the Stand By mode, you press the red button above the cockpit and the wingtips will immediately spring open.

Overall, this jet though small in size, no metal parts, has great fiery color with the dominant red.  The paintjob deliver by Bandai also fantastic.  A very nice one, I can’t wait to find more jets in this series.
